Michelle Posadas

Position(s):

Facilitator

With the idea that telling stories through creating images is a vital part of social change movements, Michelle Posadas is a multi-media performance artist who examines how our personal stories connect to larger issues. She weaves her skills as visual artist and performer with illustration, projection, graphic design, photography, videography, costume, set design, puppetry, song, dance, and so forth. She is a storyteller, organizer and teacher that brings communities together in collective art making. She learned how to use art as a vehicle for social change and developed her skills as a facilitator with her work at Spiral Q Puppet Theater, located in Philadelphia, PA, for five years. Michelle continues to engage with organizations to make art that plays a part of activist campaigns. She has notably worked with Bread & Puppet Theater (Glover, VT), Heart of the Beast’s May Day Parade (Minneapolis, MN) and Dream Community (Taipei, Taiwan). She also has ongoing collaborative endeavors with eating the other and Tatlo Mestiz@s.

Her commitment to change and organizing communities has been a fluid part of her life that began in third grade as a "conflict manager." She is thrilled to return to this year's team and enthusiastic to work with this year's Global Teen Leaders.
