Betsy Kotcher

Curriculum DirectorBetsy Kotcher is thrilled to join the WAFF team. A former educator and administrator in the Long Beach City School District, Betsy was involved in the creation and implementation of a School-Family program that received the 2002 Promising Practices Award from the Character Education Partnership. The program, which met bi-monthly and always began with the song, We Are Family, involved multi-graded groups participating in discussions and activities related to character education themes. Additionally, Betsy was responsible for spearheading the Learn to Serve Project in conjunction with the New York State Department of Education and the City College of New York – a curriculum project that connects character education and service learning. In her role as educational administrator, Betsy’s duties included training staff and facilitating groups. Betsy has a Masters in Elementary and Special Education, an Advanced Certificate in School District Leadership, and a Professional Certificate in Life Coaching. When not volunteering or pursuing her other passions (reading, working out, knitting, beading), she loves to be at the beach with family and friends.
