Jenny Rickard

Jenny joined The Common Application as President & Chief Executive Officer in August, 2016. Her expertise embodies each area of college enrollment management, including admission, marketing, technology, and financial aid. Jenny’s strong commitment to expanding access to higher education is evidenced by her accomplishments as the chief enrollment officer at both University of Puget Sound and Bryn Mawr as well as in admission roles at Swarthmore and New York University School of Law. Her extensive service within the national higher education community includes a wide range of roles with the College Board, the Association of College Counselors in Independent Schools (ACCIS), the Department of Education, and The Common Application Board of Directors - serving as Board President in 2007-08. Within the corporate sphere, Jenny was the vice president responsible for product strategy for PeopleSoft’s higher education solutions and was a consultant for the higher education software company Datatel. Jenny began her career on Wall Street at J.P. Morgan & Co. Jenny earned a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania; a Master of Business Administration degree from New York University, Stern School of Business; and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Swarthmore College. The Common Application is a not-for-profit membership organization committed to access, equity, and integrity in the college admission process. More than one million students from around the world, one third of whom will be the first in their families to attend college, use its online platform to apply to college.
