Marcus Lehmann

Position(s):

Videographer

Marcus Lehmann is a native New York cinematographer. He began his interest in filmmaking with shooting still photographs. His focus grew to encompass urban landscapes and documentary stills and this finally became a major in film at Boston University. During his studies, Marcus lived in Europe, where he gained a position on the camera floor at Panavision, London. After some film and TV experience in the U.K., Marcus returned to New York to further finesse his cinematographic skills.

In New York, Marcus focused his passion on Lighting Design by gaffing feature-length and short films, commercials and children’s TV shows (Sesame Workshop, Seemore’s Playhouse, The Electric Company). He has also worked on several photo projects, including a continuing history of several years with large-scale photographer Gregory Crewdson.

Currently, Marcus works as a Director of Photography and Camera Operator for varied film and video projects. These include: Biz Kids (for PBS), Lord Buckley: Too Hip for The Room a documentary on the comedian, and also for clients such as: Canon USA, Fuse-Music Television, VH1 and many others.

Marcus will be working with BC Productions on a new feature-length horror film, and he is continuously involved with the documentary, Ipuina Kontatu: The Basque Way, about preserving Basque culture in Spain.

Marcus has also recently spent some time in Indonesia, China and Ecuador. These trips have again sparked his interest in the cultures of the world, and he hopes to become more involved with social documentaries to combine his filmmaking talents with exploring the world.
