James Sabatini
Position(s):
Video Production Manager
James Sabatini is a television producer gearing up to launch new and progressive content to the worldwide audience.
In his late 20's, James left the business-world career track of consulting and entered the entertainment business as a Production Assistant for the film The Negotiator with Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey, and then on the CBS television series Early Edition, both shooting on location in Chicago. He quickly rose through the ranks and became the Assistant to the Associate Producer, Line Producer and co-Executive Producer simultaneously. Driven to advance his career in the industry – but in New York instead of LA – he landed the Associate Producer position on the PBS kids television series Between the Lions and made the move to New York City. A Master's in Business and Administration from Southern Illinois and the mountain of experience and exposure while working on Early Edition have greatly attributed to a quick move up the ladder. One series lead to another: from Between the Lions to The Book of Pooh and Bear and the Big Blue House, both for the Disney Channel as Associate Producer and then in development for Lazytown while freelancing at Curious Pictures. While at Curious, he produced the Barbie My Scene web series for their client Mattel. Producing several pilots and presentations while working for independent content producers of several successful children’s programs and properties has afforded him the opportunity to see what it takes to succeed in the television business and its emerging path with the Internet.
Traveling throughout Europe and South America to learn Spanish and experience the culture continues to inspire several ideas that have spawned series currently in development, while providing life experience to continue to develop as a writer for both the big and small screen. Eight years later, James has decided to start his own company, founding hqh productions, inc. to develop and produce content true to his passion – episodic series for "grown-ups." Mr. Bones, currently in development, is the first series to be launched.
