Jeremy Staley,
New Global Citizens
Mentee:
Siddharth, 15, India
Jeremy is thoroughly enjoying his first year on staff at New Global Citizens, where he manages the Student Steering Committee, new programmatic initiatives, and the NGC intern program. Originally from a small town in Ohio, he graduated from the University of Notre Dame where he majored in the “great books” program. After college, Jeremy spent a year as a WorldTeach volunteer in the Republic of the Marshall Islands, where he lived on the capital atoll and was a 6th grade teacher to a class of native students. He assures everyone that living on a tropical island in the Pacific was not his primary motivation, although his snorkeling skills did drastically improve.
Upon returning to the United States, Jeremy accepted a role with Teach For America as a Development Associate in Phoenix, in which he assisted with fundraising and external relations campaigns for the region. Jeremy has also lived briefly in Rome, Italy (where he discovered the splendors of caffeine), getting him halfway through his quest to live on each of Earth’s continents.
