Jennifer A. Carpenter is an experienced and creative professional with a passion for issues of social justice and equity. As a believer in the power of successful public-private partnerships, Ms. Carpenter has developed long-term collaborations with corporations on strategic initiatives that support the values of human dignity, equality and respect for diversity, as well as with individuals seeking similar goals. She has an extensive background in project management, fundraising, event management, marketing and advocacy work.
Ms. Carpenter graduated from the State University of New York College at Oneonta with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. She immediately began her career working within the Anti-Defamation League's (ADL) Education Division and its award-winning A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE® Institute, encompassing 28 regional sites. Building upon her initial success, Ms. Carpenter then supervised the expansion of A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE® Institute programs in seven European countries, Japan and Israel, ultimately serving as a member of the Bertelsmann Wissenschaftsstiflung Education for Democracy, Human Rights and Tolerance International Network.
In her 16 years with ADL, Ms. Carpenter strived to create new strategies, tools and resources toward a more equitable and just society. She designed and provided diversity management programs and services for corporations, small businesses, government agencies, communities and law enforcement organizations across the county and coached teams of employees and consultants to excellence.
Ms. Carpenter was named ADL's Assistant Chief Operating Officer in 2004 with responsibility for all aspects undertaken as a member of the Management Team that provided operational oversight to the entire organization. She worked extensively on fund development initiatives as well as with high profile donors, foundations, national boards and committees. Her accomplishments were recognized by being selected to receive the ADL Milton A. Senn Award – the League's highest professional honor.
A lifelong resident of Long Island, NY, Ms. Carpenter is actively involved with local community organizations and activities.
