Ammal Elhaddad graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelors in Biology. During her undergraduate years, she served as College of Arts and Sciences Senator and held several leadership positions in student and health organizations on campus.
Ammal served in AmeriCorps and currently provides training and serves as a mentor to incoming AmeriCorps volunteers. In 2007, she raced in three marathons in an effort to raise funds to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and continues to participate with Team in Training. She was also recently awarded the Women of the Year Award by the National Association of Professional and Executive Women (NAPEW), and was also inducted into the National Scholars Honor Society.
Ammal currently serves on the Miami-Dade County Asian American Advisory Board and was selected to direct the Seeds for Peace Initiative in the Miami-Dade County School System. She also sits on the Generation Engage Florida Advisory Council, Sister Cities International Board, and the AAI National Policy Council.
