Vice Admiral Konetzni has had a long and distinguished career in the U.S. Navy since his graduation from the Naval Academy in 1966. Konetzni, a career nuclear submariner, was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal twice by the Navy, and once by the U.S. Coast Guard. As a result of his mentoring and people skills, he is affectionately referred to as "Big Al the Sailor's Pal" by generations of sailors. Al is a Senior Vice President for Washington Group International and currently serves as the President of West Valley Nuclear Services Company near Buffalo, New York.
