Advocating for research and awareness of muscular dystrophy

Luke has chosen to use his diagnosis of spinal muscular atrophy to make a positive difference in the world. His role as the Muscular Dystrophy Association's National Goodwill Ambassador promotes peace for those living with disabilities, raises awareness about muscular dystrophy and Mattie J.T. Stepanek (who was also a National Goodwill Ambassador for MDA and the inspiration for Three Dot Dash) and helps raise needed research funds. He also motivates researchers to work together to find a cure for muscular dystrophy instead of competing with one another. Luke hopes to motivate people everywhere to accept who they are and to seek peace and hope in their daily lives.
