Distributing school supplies to underprivileged children

Cristian believes that everyone should be given an equal chance to excel regardless of age, sex, religion or social standing. Understanding that education is a way to create equality, Cristian began the project of collecting school supplies from traditionally privileged Dominican private schools and distributing them to underprivileged Dominican students. He also coordinates trips to those underprivileged schools, where student liaisons spend the day handing out school supplies and where Cristian has served as sports coordinator. Thanks to his project, he has noted an increase in student motivation for education, contributing to success in school. His project has also taught students to be aware of social responsibility and to have empathy for those in need. Cristian wants to be a positive representative of the Dominican Republic and ensure that every Dominican child enjoys what he views as the three rights basic to the establishment of a peaceful society: health, education and a home.
